MAN UNITED DROP INTO EUROPA LEAGUE

Premier League giants Manchester United will continue their European campaign in the UEFA Europa League this season after failing to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage from their group. The Red Devils were in a good position to secure a spot in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competitions at the start of their campaign in Group H only for a poor run to deny the former European champions. Three defeats in their final four Group H games ensured that they won’t qualify for the knockout stage.

Manchester United started their UEFA Champions League campaign this season with two consecutive wins over French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) away from home and RB Leipzig at home. The Red Devils went on a run of two defeats in the next three games in Group H and were still in contention to qualify for the round of 16 despite the poor run.

After a humiliating defeat from Manchester united the RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is only blaming his players. The Bundesliga giants have their first defeat in the 2020/21 season of Champions League which was quite shocking for the coach. According to him the hat-trick of Marcus Rashford knocked them out of the match and nothing was left to do in front of Rashford to stop him. The group H match of Champions league was scheduled for 29th October at the ground of Old Trafford.

Phil Neville says that Manchester United has a huge possibility to win over

Manchester City and Liverpool if Paul Pogba plays well in the season. He in this season has only played in eight matches and for the rest of the season has stayed in the sidelines as he had suffered from an ankle injury. He returned last month on training with United after a long break.


In the three months,a long break caused by coronavirus pandemic has given him enough time to return to fitness. With United aiming to qualify for Champions League he is ready to help the team to qualify for the campaign.

Pogba should have taken the ball in his face says Solskjaer

 

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels that the Paul Pogba should have taken the ball in the ‘mush’. In the match against West Ham, a mistake from Pogba led the opposition to gain penalty and the match ended in a draw for 1-1.


Pogba, in the first half of the match,made a mistake by covering his face with the hands when the ball was about to hit him on the face. Gary Neville who was on the commentary box has immediately criticised the player for the action and Solskjaer was also not happy about this incident. The penalty led Michail Antonio to score the penalty and have them take the lead in the match.

Manchester United should be looking forward to signing a few strikers in the upcoming transfer window while still keeping Anthony Martial in the team says, Garry Neville. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been experimenting the attacking side with the options with him and it clearly shows that the club needs more strength in the forward positions.

Martial has delivered a good performance in this season and has scored 22 goals whichare his best score till date. Solskjaer confirms double injury boost ahead of Premier League restart

 

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba are back in group training after recovering from their respective injury concerns. Rashford suffered a stress fracture in his back in mid-January and that saw him miss 13 games on the bounce before the season was halted by the coronavirus outbreak.

On the other hand, Pogba has not made a single appearance for the club since the turn of the year after deciding to undergo a surgery for a nagging ankle injury. Speaking to the club’s official website, Solskjaer confirmed that the duo are back with the group and the club could have an almost fit squad to choose from when the season recommences next month.

Harry Maguire praises Rashford as the most talented player

 

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire praises his teammate Marcus Rashford as the most talented forward he has ever played with. Maguire was part of Sheffield United’s youth academy where he played from 2011 to 2014 for whom he had made more than a hundred appearances. He was transferred to Hull City in 2015 and was given in loan to Wigan Athletic. In 2017, he joined Leicester City for £12 million and in 2019 he joined Manchester United for record transfer of £80 million for a defender. He has been the part of England national team from 2017 and been a part of 2018 World Cup Squad.


The 27-year-old has played with a bunch of good forwards but he considers Rashford as the best. He is amazed by his style on the pitch. He is also sure that he will be a wonderful player for the club in the future. He also expects that he to have an exceptional career and he has always admired him when he used to play with him in England. He is interested in giving the leadership to Rashford and assures that he is going through a phase of injury and will be back soon with his old form.

Gary Neville advises Manchester United to sign Harry Kane

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Harry Kane would be the perfect signing for the Red Devils as they seek to close the gap on the title challengers next season. The Mancunian giants have been pretty average with their league displays over the past few years and they are currently a staggering 37 points behind leaders Liverpool with nine games to play.


Still, they can end the season on a good note by qualifying for the Champions League and Neville believes a player of Kane’s calibre would provide a fantastic spine in the squad, he told The Football Show: “Any club in the Premier League would want Harry Kane. There are some signings that are like gold, where you just know they are going to work. Harry Kane is unbreakable in the sense of his mentality.

Phillips believes Jones should leave Manchester United this summer

 

Former Premier League star Kevin Phillips believes Phil Jones should pursue a fresh challenge away from Manchester United this summer after falling down the pecking order. The England international has hardly played for the club over the course of the season and he is currently the fourth-choice centre-back behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

Speaking on Football Insider, Phillips said that Jones has been a good servant for the club but the time has come to part ways. He added that a move to Newcastle United could suit him with a regular run of starts in the top-flight, he told: “Definitely. His time at United is up but he has been a good servant for the club. A move to the north-east could be great. A move for the lad will be good for him.

Solskjaer praises Bruno Fernandes’ set-piece taking abilities

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has described Bruno Fernandes as a top player after the Portuguese came up with a brilliant delivery from a corner which contributed to Harry Maguire’s first-ever Premier League goal for the club. The 25-year-old only made his second appearance in the United shirt on Monday night against Chelsea and he produced a good performance from the number 10 spot with three key chances created.


As a result, he was voted by United fans as their player of the match and Solskjaer was likewise appreciative of the display from the club’s January signing. He told: “He’s a top player, he wants to get on the ball. But at set-ball delivery he’s top class, one of the better ones I’ve seen. And Harry, we know if he can get a run on the ball he’s dangerous and he got the goal.”
