Mourinho wants players to go to extremes

Manchester United recently secured a much needed 3-1 triumph over Swansea City on November 6 as this victory was particularly important for Jose Mourinho and his squad due to the fact that they had not been able to secure a league goal since August 27 when they defeated Hull City.

This recent triumph over Swansea City is what Manchester United needed to start getting back on track and not slip any further behind in the Premier League standings which is something that has been happening on a more regular basis in recent times.

1 day after this victory, Jose Mourinho took the chance to speak to the media about his squad and their current situation and the Portuguese stated that he wants to see his players giving it everything they have and going to their limits.

RVP HONOURED FOR PREMIER LEAGUE VOLLEY

Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been honoured at a Legends of Football event in London for having scoring the best ever goal of the Premier League era.

His first time volley against Aston Villa was voted by players who had scored more than 100 goals in the top flight division.

The event was attended by Red Devils legend Ryan Giggs, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, Reds former star Michael Owen and others. The event raised funds for charity Nordoff Robins, with the Premier League donating £100,000. The ‘flying’ Dutchman then gifted the cause with a £20,000 donation at this year’s dinner that celebrated 25 years of the Premier League.

Dion Dublin, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Matt Le Tissier, Les Ferdinand and Emile Heskey were also pictured at the event.

Mourinho to meet Guardiola in EFL fourth round

Manchester United are set to meet with archrival Man City in the fourth round of the English Football League (EFL). United defeated their third round opponents Northampton 3-1 on Wednesday.

Mourinho already tasted defeat when he faced off with Pep Guardiola in the Premier League this term. City comfortably trounced United 2-1 at Old Trafford.

The win over Northampton ends the successive defeats United have suffered in the Premier League and in Europe. The win didn’t come without its own share of imperfections, but at least the team got the job done. On the other hand, City breezed through a 2-1 win against Swansea City in a keenly contested game at Liberty Stadium.

Sam Allardyce may soon get into Clubs Bad Books

Sam Allardyce hints he would not mind getting in the bad books of the club bosses if that is what it takes for him to be able to pick the squad he desires.

Allardyce, in all likeliness, is going to have Luke Shaw in the line-up he discloses this weekend.
It’s not been long since Shaw has resumed playing and Jose Mourinho would probably prefer the defender to be spared from national duty for now so that he can rest.

But, Allardyce has made it clear that he will get in touch with the Red Devils’ coach and even if there is no green signal from him, he won’t care and will go ahead as per his planning.

Speaking recently, the 61-year old said, “I would chat with Mourinho. I have never had any problems with him and neither has he. But, it’s a different situation if someone is a club boss and the national boss is talking to him.”

Borussia Dortmund states Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be allowed to leave the club in the summer

Borussia Dortmund have categorically stated that midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be allowed to leave the club in the summer.

The player only has 12 months left on his contract and could start negotiating terms with foreign clubs from January. After having lost numerous top players on free transfers in the last few years, Dortmund are fearing at the possibility of once again letting one of their top players go for nothing. Only recently, striker Robert Lewandowski, who is valued in excess of £ 40 million, joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer after allowing his contract to expire.

KIDS BENEFIT FROM ROONEY TESTIMONIAL

Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney is working with the club’s foundation to provide help for kids. The player says all the funds raised from his testimonial match against his former club Everton at Old Trafford will go to the charity.

The money is understood will be used to fund a scholarship programme to cater for youths from disadvantaged areas. The funds aims at giving the children an opportunity to reach university level education. Four charities are set to benefit from the proceeds of the charity game with Manchester United Foundation being one of them.

PIRLO AND BALOTELLI LEFT OUT

Italian players Andrea Pirlo, Sebastian Giovinco and Mario Balotelli have been left off the preliminary list announced for Euro 2016 for Italy.

Toronto FC forward Giovinco is one of a number of noteworthy players left off the continental tournament.

The 29-year old, who has 30 goals in 45 games for TFC, was surprisingly not included in manager Antonio Conte’s 30-man squad, despite his decent performance at his club.

Aside Giovinco is Balotelli, whose goals during the 2012 tournament sent Italy into the European championship final before they lost 4-0 in the final to Spain.

Rooney makes promising return

It’s been two months since Wayne Rooney made an appearance for The Red Devils following his unfortunate knee-injury in the middle of February, with his biggest fans being forced to look elsewhere for entertainment whilst he has been away.

The injury came at an inconvenient time for Rooney – just after his impressive form of scoring seven goals in nine games for Manchester United and just before England’s friendlies against Germany and Holland in which Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy had a chance to make a positive impression on England boss Roy Hodgson.

Napoli are Main Rivals of Juventus

AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus have historically been the main teams that have charged for the league title, Serie A, but in recent times AC Milan and Inter Milan have struggled trying to make a genuine charge for the Italian piece of silverware while Juventus on the other hand have continued playing at a consistently high level.

Juventus

Juventus have successively won the Italian league title since the season of 2012-13 and are currently positioned at the top.

Will Middlesbrough derail Norwich’s promotion hopes?

With just three games remaining in the 2014/2015 Championship season, the race for the top two is set to go down to the wire in what has developed into the more dramatic and closest ever finish in league history.

No fewer than four teams have a realistic chance of securing their place in the Premier League, with just two points separating first from fourth in a wonderful climax which could be decided on who holds their nerve and does not slip up in their remaining fixture.
