UNITED RECORD FIRST LEAGUE WIN

Manchester United have recorded their first league win of the season thanks to the slim victory over arch rivals Liverpool on Monday night. The Manchester United players were under immense pressure for the Liverpool game having lost their first two league games of the season. They responded positively in the face of adversity to record their first league win this season.

England international Jadon Sancho has not been able to show his immense potentials at Manchester United since his move to the club from German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund last summer. He scored just three league goals in his first season as a Manchester United player. Sancho was real for the first goal of the Liverpool game on 16 minutes off the assist from fellow forward Anthony Elanga. Manchester United should have scored before the goal from Sancho when Elanga hit the post. The well-taken strike from Sancho turned out to be the only goal of am entertaining first half as Manchester United put a depleted Liverpool side to the sword with a lot of chances created. The Red Devils could have scored more than one goal in the first half if they were more clinical in attack.

MANCHESTER UNITED REPORTEDLY INTERESTED IN WOLVES STAR PEDRO NETO

According to Fichajes, Manchester United are eager to sign a wide player in the ongoing summer transfer window and have identified Ajax’s Antony as their primary target. However, the Dutch club’s demands could put a break to Manchester United’s pursuit, with the Red Devils now identifying alternatives, including Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pedro Neto.

Manchester United have seen attackers Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard depart from Old Trafford this summer. They are yet to make an attacking signing in the ongoing transfer window while running the risk of losing Cristiano Ronaldo, who was the club’s top scorer last season.

MANCHESTER UNITED STEP UP INTEREST IN YOURI TIELEMANS THIS SUMMER

According to Ben Jacobs, Manchester United hold a genuine and growing interest in Leicester City playmaker Youri Tielemans, who is also a priority target for fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal. Despite signing Christian Eriksen earlier in the window, the Red Devils are still keen to add more quality options to their midfield roster this summer, with Barcelona ace and former Erik ten Hag protege Frenkie de Jong emerging as their priority target. Manchester United reached a deal with Barcelona for the midfielder, but the 25-year-old has yet to accept personal terms.

In truth, a swoop for the Dutchman has proved more troublesome than expected, with a host of issues on the way. While de Jong wants the Blaugrana to repay his deferred wages, it has also been revealed that the player himself remains unconvinced about moving to Old Trafford. If he were to leave Barcelona, some reports claim it would be for Champions League-level clubs like Bayern Munich or Chelsea and not Manchester United.

Sky Sports pundit speaks on Marko Arnautovic’s situation amid Manchester United interest

Sky Sports pundit Carlton Cole does not feel Marko Arnautovic would actively seek a move away from West Ham United when the transfer window reopens in a couple of months’ time. The Austria international has been a favourite among the Hammers’ faithful after making genuine progress over the past 18 months but his future has been called into question after the recent comments by his representative.

Moreover, Manchester United have been fancied to acquire his signature in recent weeks but Cole does not believe the forward would pursue a winter departure from the east London outfit, he told Sky Sports: “Do you know what, he’s happy at this club. I don’t think he’s looking actively to go and leave. He’s loved here. I don’t see any reason why he should be leaving the club. Everyone knows what he’s capable of here and I think we’ll see him stay.”
