Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has disclosed that the duo of Harry Maguire and Amad Diallo will miss the Premier League visit of Everton this weekend. The Manchester United made this known in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the game billed to take place at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime. In a chat with the media, Solskjaer said that Diallo and Maguire won’t be available for the Everton game.

Ivorian international Diallo has not featured for Manchester United this season due to injury. He was part of the Ivory Coast squad to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this summer alongside club teammate Eric Bailly.

On club skipper Maguire, Solskjaer said that the England international centre back has not recovered from the calf injury which forced him to withdraw from the Villa game in the second half. In his absence, the Manchester United manager is expected to opt for the centre back partnership of Victor Lindelof and summer signing Raphael Varane.

Just like Maguire, fellow English player Luke Shaw suffered an injury during the Villa game at Old Trafford last weekend. The England international was replaced by Portuguese star DiogoDalot in the first half of the game after he sustained an ankle injury. Shaw is a doubt for the Everton game as a result. In his press conference, Solskjaer revealed that his availability for the Everton game is not sure. Shaw and Maguire both miss the late win over La Liga side Villarreal in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored deep into stoppage time to give Manchester United a 2-1 comeback win over Villarreal as they bounced back from two successive defeats in all competitions. Villarreal took the lead thanks to PacoAlcacer on 53 minutes after a goalless first half. Alex Telles was the man who replaced Englishman Shaw at left-back for the Villarreal and he scored the equaliser on the hour mark to pave the way for Ronaldo to secure the three points on show with virtually the last kick of the game.
